Volunteering at Laird’s Hall Estate

People planting young plants in a vineyard under sunny weather.

Help Us Restore a Historic Vineyard Estate in Georgia

Join us as we restore historic buildings, plant lavender gardens and create a unique vineyard retreat in the countryside of Georgia.

Laird’s Hall Estate is a family-run project where we are transforming a traditional rural property into a peaceful estate with vineyard views, gardens and welcoming spaces for guests.

We invite volunteers from around the world who would enjoy spending time in nature, learning practical skills and helping us bring this special place to life.

What You May Help With!

Volunteers assist with a variety of practical projects around the estate such as:

  • Landscaping and planting lavender
  • Gardening and vineyard work
  • Painting and restoring buildings
  • Creating gravel paths and outdoor spaces
  • Simple carpentry and DIY tasks
  • Assisting skilled tradespeople

No special experience is required for most tasks – just enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to help.

Volunteers with practical skills such as carpentry, construction, gardening or landscaping are especially welcome.

What We Provide

  •  In exchange for your help we provide:
  • Accommodation on the estate
  • Daily meals
  • Guidance and training on tasks
  • The opportunity to learn practical skills
  • A relaxed and friendly atmosphere

Volunteers typically help for around 4–5 hours per day, leaving plenty of time to relax, explore the countryside or enjoy the vineyard views.

A Typical Day at Laird’s Hall

A Typical day might look like this:

  •  Morning
After breakfast we work together on estate projects such as planting lavender, gardening, painting or building small landscaping features.
  • Midday
We usually finish work around lunchtime and share a meal together.
  • Afternoon & Evening
The rest of the day is free to relax, explore the local area, walk through the vineyards or enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

We try to keep the experience relaxed, collaborative and enjoyable for everyone.

Life at the Estate

The estate is located in the beautiful countryside of western Georgia, surrounded by vineyards, rolling hills and traditional villages.

It’s a peaceful place where volunteers can experience rural life, fresh local food and the famous hospitality of Georgia.

Important Information
